Playwright's
Note
What
a thrill it has been to watch Grace and Jane leap off the page
and onto the stage. I've been blessed to have these characters
brought to life with such warmth and humour by a truly insightfull
director and charasmatic performer.
Special thanks to my family and friends for all their support
(emotional & financial!) and to our entire team for taking
this from dream to glorious reality.
I now truly understand the expression "A Labour of Love".

Director's
Note
The
theme of friendship is woven throughout the story of Grace and
Jazzabel. And indeed, it has become a theme of our production.
When Jacquie, Denise and I began our work on Jazzabel just 8 months
ago, we were in some ways like Grace and Jazzabel; we had “
a little bit of time and a lot less money!” Ultimately,
it didn’t matter, as our desire and commitment to the show
became fuel enough to bring all the pieces together. This project
has become a reality because of the wonderful encouragement and
support of the production team, the Grand Theatre, and our sponsors.
We look forward now, to expanding our list of friends, to include
our audience. And when you leave the theatre, we hope you too,
will feel that friendship remains at the heart of this production
and at the heart of Jazzabel.

Dreamer's
Note
I
had a dream a couple of years ago to do a theatrical/musical production
showcasing my favourite music, jazz. In mentioning this last year
to my two new best friends, Louise and Jacquie, they eagerly said
they would love to be a part of this exciting venture. And here
we are, at the cozy McManus Theatre, transformed back to the Apollo
Theatre in Harlem, NY. I am very excited about being involved
in Jazzabel, excited with having worked with a fabulous production
team and thrilled that you are here to share in this excitement
with me. Thank you so much to our sponsors, supporters, family
and friends for helping me to see my dream come to a reality.
